Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) are defined as organisations which are private, not-profit distributing and self-governing. They serve or represent community groups and are guided by the principle of social justice.

CSOs can use the platform for managing and sharing research related information. Furthermore they can create networks with other stakeholders and discuss research issues with them. It is assumed that the sharing of information will result in increased CSO visibility and transparency and coordination of large and small scale research efforts.
